Established in 1984, the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR)
is the first of its kind in India with an exclusive focus on management
research, education and training in the health sector. Public Health and
Management are at the core of Institute’s philosophy. IIHMR Jaipur is a WHO
Collaborating Centre for District Health Systems based on primary health care,
and identified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI as Institute of
Excellence in training. It has been recognized as a Research Institution by
Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Government of India,
also from Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The Institute has obtained
Federal Wide Approval (FWA), US Department of Health and Human Services, and
FCRA from the Government India. It is associated with Association of University
Programmes in Health Administration (AUPHA), USA. The Institute has
created and established Health Management as full-fledged discipline and
undertakes high quality training, research and consultancy, and offers
postgraduate programs in hospital and health management, pharmaceutical
management, health information technology management and rural management. IIHMR
has worked with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India,
health departments of various Indian states, Indian Council of Medical Research,
and UN and bilateral international organizations, namely, UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO,
World Bank, DFID, DANIDA, KFW, GTZ, NORAD, CARE, Ford Foundation, JHPIEGO, GAIN,
Futures Group, ICF Macro, and USAID. The Institute was the first to offer MPH
for developing countries in collaboration with University of North Carolina,
USA.
IIHMR has now established two more campuses, each in Delhi and Bangalore, to
promote health and hospital management education, research and training in
India. |
